Good evening, The millions of French marchers who gathered - TopicsExpress

Good evening, The millions of French marchers who gathered yesterday to show solidarity for free speech had barely dispersed from the Place de la Republique in Paris when all hell broke loose. BBC TV journalist, Tim Wilcox, speaking to a Jewish woman in the crowd who claimed that the Jews were the real victims here, had the temerity to point out “many critics though, of Israeli policy would suggest that the Palestinians suffer at Jewish hands as well”. Calls for his resignation are raining on his head and the poor man has made a groveling apology. “Really sorry,” he said, “for any offence caused by a poorly phrased question in a live interview.” Yes, it was poorly phrased but not a crime and certainly not at a march of over a million people in support of free speech. As that great French defender of free speech said, “ If you want to know who rules over you find out who you are not allowed to criticise.” Voltaire
