Good news everyone! QueenCity Bicycles is proud to announce that we are teaming up with Charlotte NC Tours. Charlotte NC Tours is a local Segway, Bicycle and Walking Tour Company locally owned and operated. Many of you already know one of its owners Dianna Ward. Dianna, like myself, has deep ties and is very committed to Charlotte’s cycling community. (Dianna helped bring and also currently manages the Charlotte B-Cycle program) Teaming up with Charlotte NC Tours has many benefits for both us and the cycling community. We will be sharing space with them at both 101. S. Tryon St, Suite 16, 28202 and 128 E. Park Ave 28203. As 2 businesses working together it will allow us to dramatically reduce our overhead and combine our marketing efforts as well as better promote cycling and bring more rides and cycling related events to our area. More importantly the partnership will allow us to share the love of riding a bike and help get more people on bikes. The space in Bank of America Plaza is stocked with the most important parts and accessories as well as kids bikes. There is no service there but later in spring we start offering service pickups and drop-offs there. We also can arrange for special drop offs for products that are not in stock there. The space in SouthEnd (Across from Carrabbas and behind the Brake Repair) will be full service. You will notice that the space is significantly smaller but quite quaint and much more manageable for us. For the time being we will support the same brands however there will be a few changes. We have really noticed a resurgence of people getting on bikes just to ride around and commuting and we have really enjoyed helping people recreate their lost love for riding bikes this past year. We will focus on more entry level city, mtb and road bikes as well as used bikes. We will be reducing our stocking inventory of high end bikes but will keep a full rental fleet of models to help with those type of purchases. Our service department will still continue to stock all of the same service equipment and parts so we will be able to continue to service any type of bike. We will remain open here at East Blvd the remainder of this week. Starting next Monday March 24th we will move all operations to Park Ave which is only 1.3 miles away. Our location there will probably be a little bit of work in progress but with Spring starting this week and the service department rocking already do not want to inconvenience anyone by being closed any business days. Our hours at Park Ave will be the same: Mon thru Fri 10 to 6, Sat 10 to 5, Closed Sundays. However, on Gallery Crawl nights and other community gatherings like SouthEnds Food Truck Fridays we will extend our hours and have some socials. We greatly appreciate your support and we look forward to our endeavor with Charlotte NC Tours which will allow us to better serve the Charlotte Cycling Community. For this week only: All Parts, Accessories, Clothing and 2013 Scotts and Bianchi Road and MTBS are 25% OFF. Please come and get it so we don’t have to move it!
