Great article revealing the discriminatory practices and patterns of Fort Bend ISD in disciplining African American children. Last year, 67% of out of school suspensions were given to African American students, who comprise of only 29% of the districts student population. I filed HB 717 to mandate single member districts for school board elections. This will ensure our children have a voice from their community fighting for their right to a quality education.
