HOW TO STORE YOUR BIKE Of course many of you have started to put your love away for the winter with tears. But have you made sure you put her away like she should. Whispered sweet nothings, and made sure she was clean and covered? Well here are some tips for winter storage of your bike! 1. Give her a good bath then take some WD40 on chrome, nuts, bolts, anything that can or has already started rusting. WD40 will help protect from rusting and will cause no harm to your bike. 2. If you have a chain make sure its clean and lubed so that it will be protected from corrosion. WD40 should not be a option for this since chain lube will protect the chain and also have it ready for spring. 3. Change your oil and filter. This way all the sludge doesnt build up in the bottom of your motor and start to deteriorate your motors insides. It also helps to lubricate the internals with fresh oil for protection. DID YOU KNOW: That many motorcycle do not charge the battery at idle. So starting your bike and letting it run just moves all the fluids around, but only at a certain RPM the bike will charge. 4. Fill your gas tank completely and add fuel sta-bil. This way the whole tank is under fuel and will not start to rust from moisture in the tank. Also Stabilizer will keep the fuel from going bad and cause your tank from deteriorating. Dont forget to run the bike for a few min to let the stabilizer get into all the fuel system. 5. Check your Anti-freeze! If you changed your anti-freeze to a water based track legal fluid. Check and make sure that it will not freeze. WARING: Some anti-freeze are for race conditions only and will not work in freezing temperatures! 6. Maintain your battery!!! A battery that sits for any long period of time can loose up to 60% of life. You will not believe the amount of batteries we replace come spring. Buy yourself a Battery Tender and save your self some money! DID YOU KNOW: That many motorcycle do not put enough charge to the battery at idle.
