Habanero is a sweet, AVERAGE-rated senior who SO deserves to live out his life surrounded by love. A volunteer writes: "Habanero is so quiet in her arrival kennel but she is quite ready when I show up at her door. Leashed without fuss, Habanero trots next to me, with a limp . She is a great trooper, happy to be in company, stretch her legs and relieve herself. Clearly, her sight is a bit diminished but she walks in a straight line without bumping into things. Habanero is an elderly lady of very mixed lineage. She still has lovely chesnut eyes sparkling in a honey colored face. Her coat is clean but needs grooming. She does not mind me plucking the dead clumps of hair off her coat. She understands orders and sits on commands. Habanero is very hungry and eats avidly. Habanero was found as a stray in a large park lining the river. I think that Habanero needs a new owner, one who will love her to pieces, care for her and give her the greatest golden years a dog can ever have. Habaneo is at the Manhattan Care Center."
