Halftime Re-cap: Washington Redskins at Minnesota Vikings We were expecting a rusty-looking quarterback today, but we thought it would be Robert Griffin III, not Teddy Bridgewater. Griffin hasnt rushed for big gains (6 yards), but hes kept plays alive with his feet and is 8/13 for 112 yards. The Minnesota defense has struggled to contain the Washington offense, Alfred Morris has 56 yards on 11 carries and a touchdown, and Griffin has connected with DeSean Jackson on the deep ball. But Anthony Barr has sacked Griffin once to bring up a 4th down and the defensive line has knocked Griffin down repeatedly. The biggest momentum play from the defense was Captain Munnerlyns interception that gave the Vikings offense the ball late in the first half and led to the teams only points of the day. On offense, Bridgewater has held onto the ball more than he should, but hasnt turned it over. The running game hasnt been productive and the Vikings have been opting to pass a lot. Bridgewater is 17/28 for 148 yards and one touchdown to tightend Chase Ford. Rookie running back Jerick McKinnon has only 5 attempts for 9 yards, Matt Asiata 2 attempts for 5 yards. Greg Jennings has been a clutch safety blanket for Bridgewater with 4 catches for 57 yards. Whether because of stopping on routes from Cordarrelle Patterson or miscommunication, the deep ball has been a problem again today. On special teams, penalties on kick returns continue, but Marcus Sherels has been great on coverage. Will the Vikings put together more scoring drives in the second half? Vikings 7, Redskins 10 at the half.
