Happiness is to Joy what a tent is to a home. For by lack of a foundation, one is easily swept away by the first storm it encounters, yet the other endures a lifetime of various conditions and will never be uprooted.. Though a whirlwind or fire may demolish its walls, its foundation will endure; thus preventing there ever being a total loss. For what remains is still part of the original home and can be rebuilt upon; and the latter will be made just as beautiful, if not more glorious, as the former. For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Christ Jesus. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each ones work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each ones work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.
