Harshvardhan/Nadda correspondence nails Centre, BJP lies. The Aam Aadmi Party is putting in public domain the entire correspondence between BJP’s national general secretary JP Nadda and union health minister Dr Harsh Vardhan to nail the lies about the real reason for the removal of whistleblower officer Sanjiv Chaturvedi as CVO of AIIIMS. Please find enclosed along with this statement, Mr Nadda’s June 24 letter to the health minister and related correspondence, including file notings. In his self explanatory letter, the BJP leader has himself stated that this was his third letter seeking Chaturvedi’s removal. In response, the health minister assured him that necessary action was being taken. Latest news reports about the health ministry’s attempts to mislead the Prime Minister’s Office on the issue only add to the mystery surrounding this entire issue. The AAP challenges the BJP to break its silence on the dubious role of Nadda and consistent lies of union health minister Harsh Vardhan on why an honest officer was made a victim of political interference aimed at scuttling mega corruption scams, which he was probing. Nadda’s interference did not merely stop at seeking the removal of Chaturvedi, but according to a health ministry note, he wanted a probe into how the appointment of CVO was done, attempting to turn the AIIMS autonomy into a complete mockery. Both, the BJP and Mr Nadda are running away from answering why he wanted an honest officer to be removed ? Further, why did Dr Harsh Vardhan as health minister show so much eagerness to oblige Mr Nadda ? Harsh Vardhan and his ministry have been resorting to lies after lies in an unsuccessful bid to cover-up their unpardonable act, despite the Prime Minister’s promise of providing an honest government. Since the real reason for Chaturvedi’s removal is out in the open now, it remains to be seen whether the PMO will take corrective action and restore an honest officer fighting against corruption back to his position. It is highly unfortunate that Dr Harsh Vardhan tried to even drag the Central Vigilance Commission into the controversy to mislead the country, though the real intention was to please his party colleagues involved in a direct compromise with corruption. The AAP will keep raising the issue and will continue to seek a response from the central government and the BJP, till the injustice meted out to an honest officer who was fighting corruption is undone.
