Having been monitoring social media since Chef Achatz’ tweet - TopicsExpress

Having been monitoring social media since Chef Achatz’ tweet last week, Bossy-boots can safely surmise that public opinion declares that the winner is - No children under the age of reason – loosely defined between eight – ten years old. As mentioned in Bossy-boots’ previous posts – there is a difference between eating & dining – no matter the price, (but that certainly can be an issue at the hautest of the haute restaurants!) If you just need to assuage your hunger, satisfy your calorie intake for the day or discuss travel plans with a pal at Podunk’s Pub - that is eating. If you want to happify your taste buds with your gastronomic Aunt Clara’s magnificent series of clams prepared five ways, accompanied by Uncle Pepe’s homemade Pinot Grigio; pack a picnic of pork rillettes, Beef Wellington & Lemon tart to join the annual surprise White Dinner in Paris, New York or LA or pay a royal ransom for dinner at Masa - that is dining. The point is not necessarily the outcome – it is the intention & attention that matters: the IN-tention & AT-tention to the food, wine, service & surroundings. i.e. The experience is what you are paying for & that is what can be ruined by a variety of things: a drunk patron, music so loud you cannot converse with your table mates or a bawling baby. Assuredly more from Bossy-boots to follow!
