Heather Claire Brozo and Rae Hicks Brozo Zimmerman posting on behalf of Chuck. His heart rate is a bit high, other vitals ok. He was restless because of pain. They gave him some pain meds, seemed to be working and he is resting more comfortably. His white blood cell count is still dangerously low, he has sepsis (a viral infection) and c-diff (a bacterial infection) which are being treated by antibiotics (unfortunately, the antibiotics used to treat each infection cancel each other out.) Ideally his stent needs to be removed to prevent bacteria from going toward kidneys, but the problem is he is not strong enough for surgery. No decision on that as of yet. He is in the ICU in Critical Condition, the odds are against him with how weak his immune system and strength happen to be. Doctor is hoping for a positive outcome but said try to be prepared for a loss. This morning, he received a blood transfusion because his hemoglobin blood level was so low. Myself and my mom are currently at the airport in Salt Lake City doing our best to try and get to Detroit to see him. Please keep us all in your prayers and good thoughts.
