Help! When I was in my teens I had a green thumb, however its since gone black and I need assistance with my plant husbandry. 1.The first plant is a Banana Palm and there was no instruction for its care. 2. The second photo pertains to the one-leaf plant in the brown pot. Ive had it about a year and a half and its always had two leafs. A new one would start to unfurl and the old one would die. A friend transplanted it about three months ago into the pot its in. The pot didnt have drainage so I drilled one hole in it off to one side. The one leaf is apparently dead now and no replacement is forthcoming. Is it dead? What happened? Also the plant above it seems to be drooping? 3. This plant is drooping by all appearances. It wasnt always this saggy I dont think, and one of the leafs is turning yellow. Is it getting over watered? 4. The plant on the right has brown, rust colored areas on the big leaf, while the one to the left is brand new and shiny. Is it normal for that to happen to older leafs? The large-ish plant on the left seems okay for now, however given the state of the other plants Im worried... My homes thermostat is set for 68, however I think the heat doesnt get distributed evenly and some areas may be warmer. None of the plants except the dead leaf plant in photo #2 get direct sunlight as the room is north facing. When I stick my finger in the soil and its dry I water them, usually about 1 cup for the small ones and two for the palm thingy in #4. What am I doing wrong? I get pretty bummed out when I fail a plant, also I want to get more but not if I cant make them happy so to speak. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
