Here are my comic book issues for the day - The Shadow/ Green Hornet: Dark Knights #1 - As someone who knew of these character despite never having exposure to their previous material with the exception for the Seth Rogen movie, I decided to give them both a shot with this comic. And just like the Seth Rogen movie, my interest in these pulp characters lessens. The story has hardly any flair to it, it was just a Boring Exposition Dump. While I like the brief Lone Ranger reference, Im giving this title a pass. Powerpuff Girls #7 - The EXCELLENT story arc from the last 6 issues felt like a tough act to follow, and so far it is. While having all the monsters from Monster Island attack Townsville for 1 day is interesting, it lacks the Wow factor that last arc had where the girls rogues gallery turned good. Simon Charm is a decent stand-in writer/artist, but his artwork is less animated compared to Troy Little. None the less, this is still the 1 comic series Ill be collecting each issue as a fan. Im hoping to enjoy reading IDWs Black Dynamite comics soonIm also looking forward to new the Ghost Rider book where the rider now drives a muscle car.
