Heres a little mishap for A8-134 back in the very early eighties I believe, before conversion to an RF-111C. Whilst on exercise out of RAAF Darwin the crew got an engine hot light and had to divert to Derby WA. On landing one of the rear tyres blew sending the aircraft of the runway on a bumpy ride and coming to rest on the high tide water mark, making for a hurried fix and removal before the tide came in. I believe the pilot was Herbie Thoroughood and the Nav I dont know a name, but he was getting married and had to be flown back out and Nev Duus was bought in.
