Heres my appeal to all youngsters in Delhi- girls and boys and their parents should not forget how they were savagely beaten by the Delhi Police during anti rape protests and how a few were even framed for murder of a Sub Inspector, when they were actually helping him to revive after suffering a heart attack. A state which does not respect its young and is insensitive to its womenfolk, requires a new Government. Sadly, neither BJP nor Congress deserve the baton. Corruption and inflation are important issues no doubt, but, I have hung my head in shame at these unprincipled politicians who were a part of the insensitive govt and policy making group which had no compassion for its own youngsters and elders alike. Having been an integral part of the Geeta and Chopra protests in 1978, and having grown-up children myself, I would have no hesitation in exhorting all Delhiites, to throw out all these uncouth politicians who have not even had the time or inclination to meet the protestors when they were standing in front of their houses. These idiots had the gall to order water cannoning and lathi charge on Delhis citizens- these chaps need to be thrown out-hook, line and sinker. Let us give a chance to professionals and other educated candidates, and let us reject candidates, most of whom are professional realty agents, who have turned Delhi into an unmanageable slum, with such poor levels of sanitation, health, education,law and order, infrastructure- add to that, corruption and inflation- we should all be thoroughly ashamed. The middle class particularly has the biggest responsibility to usher in a new dispensation. It is they who have been marginalized, and their children who have to now leave Delhi to get access to higher education and opportunities, all thanks to the insensitive crop of current politicians. Do we require any more reason to bring in Aam Aadmi Party? Id be really happy if everyone starts sharing this message. We so called, middle class should not fail our fellow citizens this time.
