Heyaaa evuuurbodys... The Crying Spell has moved forward to round #2 in the bracket for the Dream Show Seattle contest to play halftime show at the Seahawks game. Well be performing again on Sunday, November 9th. This event is FREE to everyone. ;) (Ill have more details soon) The band and I truly appreciate everyone who took their time to help push us through this. SERIousLY... you know who you are! I might not have had the chance to personally thank you yet, but want to say it here now. Bands competing against bands? I think most music has its good points to it. One band might be more technically skilled in their ability to play an instrument, but maybe another band has great song writing, or maybe they have an amazing keyboardist :) but dont have an excellent saxophone player. I believe people should love music. How is one really supposed to judge a band anyways? How do you compare a hardcore metal band to an acoustic solo artist? I dont believe in battling against other bands. Who am I to say we are better or worse than someone else, we are just different. We are supposed to stick together and help each other out, not go to war with one another. We need to build a community and bring people together! At first I questioned being apart of this competition, but I look at this opportunity more of being introduced to some of the talent in our own city and to perform in front of a new audience. All the bands involved deserve opportunities and we need people to contribute by voting. Just because a band won a battle of the bands contest doesnt mean theyre the best band in the world. At most it means they built new relationships and had more support by people who took time out of their life to voice their opinion. I personally think this opportunity is rad and Im glad to be apart of it. Every artist has a dream and its too easy to go unnoticed. Sometimes it feels like art is nothing if there is nobody to share it with. Anywayz, again, I appreciate everyone who voted for us Im excited to meet some really great bands/people through this process.
