Hi Friends and Family, I am joining my Parish On Sunday October 13th for the Out of the darkness community walk to prevent suicide. In the past years the Parish of Saint Lukes of Long Valley, NJ and our High School have lost young people High School students. I am joining in this walk as a way to help out my community, and support this nation wide walk. I welcome any donation that you can make. Thank you for your support. The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) is the leading national not-for-profit organization exclusively dedicated to understanding and preventing suicide through research, education and advocacy, and to reaching out to people with mental disorders and those impacted by suicide. Suicide claims more than 38,000 lives each year in the United States alone, with someone dying by suicide every 13.7 minutes. A suicide attempt is made every minute of every day, resulting in nearly one million attempts made annually. When you walk in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s Out of the Darkness Walks, you join efforts with thousands of people nationwide to raise money for AFSP’s vital research and education programs to prevent suicide and save lives.
