Hi all, Please share this letter with as many ATVers as you are - TopicsExpress

Hi all, Please share this letter with as many ATVers as you are able and encourage them to act as quickly as possible As most of you are aware on November 7th, this year there was a motion brought forward in the legislature (motion 48) where an MPP from the south eastern portion of the province identified the need to make changes to Reg 316-03 (regulation regarding ATVs and road use) that would see the inclusion of type II (built for 2 ATVs) as well as side by side type vehicles. The motion did pass with flying colours... That is the good news. The not so good news is that there is no obligation from the part of the Minister in charge of this regulation (Minister of Transportation hon Glen Murray) to act on the motion. The word that I am currently getting is that there is apprehension on the part of the Minister to do anything... ATVers have waited long enough for this change, it is quite apparent that there is an appetite within the legislature to entertain a change. Now we as ATVers must encourage Minister Murray to take the motion and run with it. What does that mean? Quite simply every ATVer in Ontario should drop Minister Murray a line either by email or by mailing a letter to his office. I understand that there are a few petitions circulating on this issue; however you must remember that 10,000 names on a petition is the same as 1 personal email or letter, so there is a huge bang for our buck to have every ATVer send him a letter. The letter must be personal, to the point; but a detailed ask; please remember that a form letter it carries less weight than a petition does, dont do it, your words are very important. The letter should contain the following information: The letter should be sent to the Minister as well as Cced to your MPP. That you are a member of the OFATV or other ATV organization in Ontario and/or That you are a rider (enthusiast) That you support the motion from November 7th regarding regulation change to 316-03 Your ask is to encourage the Minister of Transportation to act on, and address the issues as outlined in the motion. Ask what timeline could be expected to get the regulation changed Anything else that you feel is important to this matter; do not, I repeat do not, muddy the letter by adding information for any other concern or information that takes away from the main points as expressed above. For your convenience: Current MPPs information can be found: ontla.on.ca/web/members/members_current.do Contact Information for Minister Murray: email: [email protected] Address: Ministry of Transportation/Ministry of Infrastructure 3rd Floor, Ferguson Block 77 Wellesley Street West Toronto, Ontario M7A 1Z8 Thank you in advance for your immediate attention to this matter. The Legislature rises for Christmas break on December 12th, and does not sit again until February 18th, that is a huge gap to have this entire initiative swept under the rug.... As an ATVer if you want change, do not let it die, your voice is important, we have already proved that from the response from the Motion brought forward by MPP Crack. Get your email in well ahead of December 12th, _
