Hi all Well, yesterday we were in court all day, for the sentencing of the two people that were responsible for the arson attack that destroyed our lovely home in May last year. It was a very long & emotional day for all the family, Hayley, Stevan, Sam, Aimee, Yasmin & myself! I am so proud of them all as we were in the public gallery with the defendants families for a while and they showed what true strength and fortitude was, in fact I was the one that surprised everyone by blowing my top at a couple of young men sitting behind us when they smirked at the wrong moment! After our family were invited by the judge to sit in the jurors bench within the court, the Judge apologised for us having to be in the same room as the defendants families and made sure we were comfortable, his summary took us all by surprise, and I would just like to thank Judge Parkin for his common sense and compassion shown during this moment, he stated in his summary that he could not put it better than Hayley had so eloquently In her victims statement by her description of them saying they were (spineless cowards) and the sentences shall represent our feelings and his disgust at the actions of the defendants! 19 year old Levi Haywood, 8 years 40 year old Daren Williams, 10 years Even as we sat there it was almost a surreal feeling, getting closure on this chapter in our lives and seeing those two cowards being taken down. I felt the relief and satisfaction wash over our family, knowing that we all can now move forward with our lives.... Hayley and myself would like to say a huge thank you to everyone for the kind words and acts of kindness to us and our family during this time, you guys REALY have no idea how much this has helped us over the last 8 months..
