Hi everyone! [GM]Hadouken here, and Id like to introduce you a little on one of my personal favorite Heroes - Tao Warrior. Being a powerful melee hero with huge range, the Tao Warrior displays his greatest strength during the fiercest battles. He gathers spiritual energy to shake the ground below or knock down enemies ahead. His most deadly skill is to violently swing his spear to bring down enemies from all sides. The scroll he carries on his back is the Tao Warrior’s trump card. When he reads it he reduces the cool-down on all of his Skills. Release Date October 28, 2009 Rank Requirement SSG Class 2 Skills Refresh Scroll Item: Trinket Keyboard: [A]+[S] Reduce the cooldown on your skill gauge. Wind Shock Item: Helmet Keyboard: [A]+[D] Concentrate your spirit to fire a blast of wind. Sky Shatter Item: Armor Keyboard: [A]+[S]+[D] Slam the ground below to lift your enemies up in the sky. Wild Dance Item: Weapon Keyboard: [S]+[D] Sweeping strikes with your Crescent Blade send enemies flying. Upgrades The upgrade depends on what type of Tao Warrior you play; rule of thumb is to upgrade the stats according to how you want to play your Tao Warrior. Generally, you should play a Tao Warrior by adapting to the environment in order to fully bring out the full capacity that a Tao Warrior has to offer. There are usually three types of Tao Warrior: ♦ Attacker [Damage Dealers] Their main goal is to deal the most amount of damage by utilizing the range of their spear-like sword and skills attacking a cluster of enemies at the same time. They’re always at the front lines to protect their teammates and should always be in the heat of the battle where the enemies are gathered. ►Recommended Skill Upgrade(s): Refresh Scroll + Sky Shatter ►Recommended Stat Upgrade(s): Attack + Defence Author’s Note: A Tao Attacker should always be attacking in a large group, and let your teammates finish the killing blow or chase down a naked opponent. The Tao Warriors job is to do as much damage in the fiercest battles. Generally, you would not want to use your refresh scroll out in the open because opponents can easily get the timing and prepare for damage when your invincibility frame wears off. However, in the heat of battle, Refresh Scroll is a useful tool to use right after you nail a Sky Shatter in the middle of a group battle. You basically bait your opponent to attack you, and your teammates can assist you coming from behind. ♦ Defender [Tankers] This is a supporting melee class. This type of Tao Warrior usually support the ranged Heroes by staying in front of them and swing his spear at anyone who tries to get close to them. He can also support his melee Heroes by staying just behind them while using the full range of his Crescent Blade to stab anyone in front of the melee heroes. ►Recommended Skill Upgrade(s): Refresh Scroll or Wind Shock + Sky Shatter ►Recommended Stat Upgrade(s): Attack Author’s Note: This is a Hero that needs to constantly look at his surroundings. You should react to each situation and quickly manoever between helping out your teammates either by protecting the ranged Heroes or supporting the melee team. Wind Shock is a great skill to quickly knock an opponent off of a teammate, or counter an opponent’s skill. All the skills in Tao Warrior’s repertoire are all useful to assist your teammates. Wild dance is especially useful to save your teammates from being captured in prisoner match. ♦ Edger [Combo-Breakers] The sole purpose of this Hero is to find all the opportunity to edge your foes off the map. The Tao Warrior have many useful arsenal to achieve this goal. ►Recommended Skill Upgrade(s): Refresh Scroll + Wind Shock ►Recommended Stat Upgrade(s): Author’s Note: The wide swing attack (hold D) is your friend. It has a 270 degree swing which could easily knock anyone down a fair distance. Also, you can angle the attack and knock-down the enemy left, right, or backward. Wind Shock will be your bread and butter in knocking enemies out of the map. Best use of Wind Shock is to use it to counter enemys skill and to help your teammate in a battle near the edge. Gear Now that Lost Saga have Epic Gears, they give Heroes a chance to mix-and-match other Hero’s items to make them more effective or just to make them look so much cooler. Combos Some of the basic combos and tag combos that I personally favor with my Tao Warrior. Basic Attacks/Combos ►[D] :Normal Attack ►Hold [D] :Wide 270 degree swing. This will knock down any enemies that take a hit from the fearsome Crescent Blade. ►[D]+[D]+[D] :Two normal attacks and a third wide swing to knock the opponent down. Author’s Note: Generally, you do not want to finish your combo attack with the third swing, as enemies could easily jump out of the third swing and attack you. Ultra Combos ►[A][S][D] + Hold [D] :Use Sky Shatter to launch enemies into the air, then make a big swing at all the enemies coming down knocking them back. ►[A][S][D] + [S][D] :Use Sky Shatter to launch enemies into the air, then send them flying with Wild Dance. Note: the right timing can juggle the enemies enough for the second hit of the Wild Dance knocking them back a fair distance. ►[A][D] + [A][S][D] + [S][D] :Push your enemies down with wind shock, launch them back up with sky shatter, then finish them off with wild swing. Preferred Combos ►Minigun + Wind Shock + Study Time 12-hit Combo :Wind shock the opponent, turn around and set Minigun and use School Uniform right away ►Minigun + Wind Shock + Torch 13-hit Combo :Wind Shock the opponent, turn around and set Minigun and turn back to your opponent and throw a Torch at them. While the opponent is burning away, they will get hit by the minigun. You can top it off for an extra hit by running behind them, and swing your Crescent Blade for a final hit.
