Hosting and speaking at the University of San Francisco School of Education open house. I still trip that Im in my second year of grad school and teaching High School social studies. Reason being is that I almost didnt graduate high school, struggled through community college and was placed on academic probation at SF state. After several attempts at giving up and throwing in the towel the struggle pulled me back in. Trajectory change is real. Once I realized that they wanted me to give up and fail the system, I woke up and committed myself to push through. I deserve to be here, you deserve to be there, we deserve to make it where they make it impossible for us to even dream. Bang on the system!
