How can you do a Dredd game that both works AND fully captures the post Atomic-Wars world of the comics? Well, the Dredd universe is vast & fully-realized. It extends across the entire planets surface with multiple Mega-Cities & townships strewn about the Cursed Earth & beyond. To boot, there are also colonies established in space & alien civilizations to represent. As well, an entire alternate history has been recorded for Dredds world which must be reflected in its denizens & locales. Cultures & sub-cultures of peoples, militaries, gangs, tribes, & an entire animal kingdom with its own hinted at ecosystems have appeared within the pages of 2000AD. How could all of this be captured in a video game? A simulation of what it would be like to live in the reality of Judge Dredd comics. It seems impossible, but maybe with some meddling around in the engine of No Mans Sky a developer could possibly recreate the setting of the comics. After all, it was built to house an entire universe. Could a procedurally generated world defined with parameters set by a nearly half-centurys worth of fiction become a reality? Its a real dream of mine, but it sounds like an idea that would take a massive development team a large amount of time to create. If only Judge Dredd had the fan base it would take to make it a financially viable move for Rebellion - or any other game development studio - to make. Maybe if a sequel to the 2012 flick comes to pass demand will be high enough. I imagine an over the shoulder third person action-adventure game with multiple driving segments. Mega-City One itself is larger than all the GTA games to date combined, much more ole Joes entire world. Sigh... but a fan can dream. #dredd #judgedredd #2000ad #idw #rebellion #videogames
