I always used to cringe at my surname. Its not a bad surname, its more that I thought aesthetically it sounds blunt and masculine, and clunky. Plus it is only one syllable - my first name is already short too, so it makes my name look short when written and sound short when said, and a little bit cut off. Doesnt roll off the tongue like a name that has rhythm and movement - its too short for that. Come to think of it now, piecing all this together, its as if the universe was gearing me up for being a shorty subconsciously as soon as I had a name, and in some small way Ive projected that unconscious resentment from all of the vertical challenges faced at that name, repeating this subconscious self-confidence sabbotage.... ***BUT*** Yesterday it occurred to me that if I rearrange the letters in my surname it spells GSUS and now Im totally cool with it. The lesson is, you should always play phonetic anagrams with your children. Or, more likely I just dumped some super unnecessary conditioning I created thats been holding me back around subconsciously associating being short with being incomplete and that is a pretty cool epiphany for hump day!
