I am an international student, and I have been living for the past year and two months in an apartment in Coolidge corner (Brookline). Due to different reasons, all of my current roommates are leaving the apartment, and I ended up having the option to renew the lease starting September of the current year with different people. I called the real estate agent that takes care of my lease and asked him about the things we had to do in order to re-sign the lease with different and new people, the first question he asked me was if the people that were going to sign the lease were US Citizens, I said that none of them were. He immediately said that he couldn’t rent the apartment to internationals because they were not “trustable”. If this is not discrimination what is it then?, does anybody know if theres some kind of government related entity that can help me with this issue?
