I believe that exams are not a realistic representation of what an individuals capabilities are. To think that one single exam can dictate whether you enter into the course you have been working so hard for the past two years of your life on is absolutely ridiculous. There are so many exterior factors such as: anxiety, overtiredness, or being forgetful (like myself), that can influence on exams and i believe that one single 2 hour written piece should not be the accumulation of a whole years work. My English teacher believes that it is a reasonable idea to cram 5 separate texts into one half of the year (only having around 2 weeks to work on each text) and I am somehow supposed to remember every significant detail of all texts in one day. To me, this just does not seem right. I believe that exams should be a thing of the past and that what you do throughout the year on a consistent level should show where you belong in society. - Rant over.
