I dont talk about this much on FB, but one of the areas that I find interesting is some of the debate revolving around evolving the Army into an institution better suited to deal with 21st century threats. This stems from when I was in college and read a few books on how the American Army evolved and changed after the Civil War and how the Spanish American War and the subsequent Filipino insurrection of 1898-1902 showcased those changes. The past 10 years undoubtedly displayed some pitfalls and shortcomings within the Army and now there are discussions on how to move forward. Very interesting topic that I might post more about in the future.
