I feel the need to catch up on a few past due statuses. Saw the movie Saving Mr Banks, on New Years Eve. Although it starred Tom Hanks, Emma Thompson, Collin Farrell, and Jason Schwartzman, I am sorry to say, that I did not enjoy it at all. It was neither entertaining or amusing, and was a little depressing, and at times, quite confusing. The casting of actors for certain roles, was off, as well. (Ie, the actress cast to play the young girl of the character portrayed by Emma Thompson was indubitably an uncredible fit.) I hate to say it, but even Tom Hanks didnt even dazzle me in this flick (And he was portraying amusement park mogul, Walt Disney!!) This is one Disney movie, and might be one of the only ones, that I not only didnt like, but that I wouldnt recommend. Wish I saw Frozen, which once again, took the top spot at the box office and became one of Disneys all time top grossing films, next to the Lion King. Secondly, last night when I was going to go out to dinner for Chinese at my favorite Chinese restaurant, I ended up being extremely disappointed. Pulled up to it, only to discover that it was closed and had a sign that read: Closed due to water damage. There mustve been a fire that set off the sprinklers, which in turn, flooded out the place. So my favorite Chinese restaurant is now closed indefinitely, possibly (although I would like to not think), for good. So two disappointments, both of which happened in Bayside (Bay Terrace, the former and Baybridge Commons, the latter).... A coincidence nonetheless, so I guess its fitting that I posted about them, together.
