I feel the same way about people who go to church for social reasons, but will never admit it, as I do about women who call an unborn child a fetus. They know the truth, but it would be socially uncomfortable to admit it. The church is the body of Christ. It consist of those people who have made Jesus the Lord of their lives and are therefore willing to give their lives over to Him sacrificially knowing that He will be our reward in the life to come. Church meetings should be a blessed time of strengthening, learning, praying, worshiping and encouragement , so that we can better serve Jesus as we go through our daily lives. If you regularly attend a church gathering but the whole focus of your life is on who will win the game this weekend, or how will you ever get to go to your favorite bands concert, or when will you be able to buy that thing youve been thinking about, then you have missed the point. We are soldiers. Put on your armor and get your mind focused on the war that is raging all around you. Pray for me to be strong and watch my back, and Ill pray for you to be strong and Ill watch your back. If I fall pick me up, and if you fall I will pick you up. This is real. We are not under a spiritual war watch we are under a spiritual war warning, and we must take cover in the shelter of our Lords daily guidance. Be the Church dont just go to the meeting place.
