I fished the BETS bass comp at lake stclair on the weekend. The bass where on fire! everyone who knows my fishing style knows I love the winter bite , I think people are crazy for sitting on deep fish this time of year . Cold water in NSW = 80% of fish are on the edge feeding like crazy on bait ,FAT BIG nsw bass if you can pull them from there favourite feeding spot .( my status on Friday was for all the followers out there who cant work stuff out for themselves , I was at work all day ) I havent been to stclair in a while but between Mitchell and myself it was a easy decision to throw jerkbait and plastic tight to the edge in about 2-6ft of water, the bass came thick and fast all weekend and a super tight comp saw us finish in 3rd We both used Millerods finnesse freaks for this with 4lb braid 6 lb leader . Was a wicked weekend on the water apart from the extreme wind . It was good to get back onto some bass again after the move to Tamworth has seen most of my time spent on cod . Big shout out to the glovers for the hospitality again and coney for been wicked on the net (;
