I had a conversation with Charlie today about older siblings modeling good behavior for younger siblings. Younger brothers, especially, want to emulate what they see. My younger sons have no visible, daily, active, participating, male role model. Charlie is it. He got this position dumped on him...along with Its not MY problem how you get your grass mowed and Call somebody who cares. Hes in the midst of the turmoil...doing everything he can to keep his family and home together...for me and for his brothers. Some kids might have rebelled at the immediate, unfairly begotten, task of being suddenly the man of the house. Not Charlie. He has stepped up... He has never faultered. He has set the good example for his brothers that never existed (and still doesnt). Hes invested in himself and in his family in proportion to his ability to do so. Not many kids have the responsibility he does and rise to the occasion and thrive! Hes MY boy...and, it seems strange to say but...hes my inspiration! Nothing stops him! My midwife once said...You could drop an anvil on that babys head and he wouldnt flinch. Its the same now! Hes not my rock...hes my anvil!
