I have thought a lot about Russell Brand telling people not to vote and Michelle and I had a very good chat about it today. Whilst I absolutely do think that revolutionary political reform is necessary, until that day or process arrives, not voting will guarantee that the Tories will win the next election. Not voting is a really stupid idea because its only relevant to those who are not happy with the system, Tory voters would be whistling in the street if the rest of us didnt vote. It would be a done deal for Cameron. I have immense respect for Russell Brand, hes intelligent, articulate and as sharp as a razor, but on the voting issue, I think he is dead wrong. Dont vote and the Whigs and toffs win, the very same people who we had to win the right to vote from in the first place.
