I heard something in the news today that makes me sorry I was ever a fan of Oprah Winfrey. She has turned her back on Paula Deen. Now, remember that she (Oprah) always talked about how proud she was to have Paula as a friend. Well, apparently Oprah is a "fair-weather" friend. Oprah talked about how the last word some black boys heard as they were being hung from a tree was the "N" word. That was 150 yrs ago. Get over it. Yes, it was a terrible time in this country, something we should all be ashamed of. But what about how the Jews were persecuted, and Scots/Irish, not to mention the Native Americans. I think Oprah should be ashamed of herself and send a public apology to Paula. She was in shock after the incident she endured. Why is it OK for black people to call themselves the "N" word, but no one else can? Has Oprah never made a blunder or said something she regretted? There is not one among us who is perfect. What about forgiveness???
