I just got the bills for a near fainting episode in my home. It was just like what you see on TV when an elderly mom or dad suddenly cant stand up. In an instance, my blood pressure dropped to 40 something, and I barely had a pulse. So, off I went to Banner Desert Hospital, again. They remembered me. My doctors persuaded me to have additional testing to get to the source since my electrolytes and such were fine, and I was back again after 18 months. So after three days and a battery of tests, they did find out what I have, which is now treated with meds, thank goodness. My point is that the cost for the stay and tests is...wait for it...$219,423.64. My cost...wait for it...$0.00. In addition to Medicare, I have a Medicare Supplement Plan F, which is more expensive on a monthly basis ($120.00), but covers everything that Medicare doesnt, including those really fun trips in an ambulance with handsome paramedics. People say that they cant afford a medicare supplement; I say you can. I am not selling medicare supplements any more, so consider this to be a public service announcement from me. :)
