I love attending the cocker nationals when I can afford the trip, - TopicsExpress

I love attending the cocker nationals when I can afford the trip, however this year I planned on a breeding with GG Iron Waters Six Carat Diamond Lil BN RN TD with Trish Jacksons Madisons Pride of Dexter SH, we know Lil is always in season in July because we can never take her to the nationals, once the breeding was planned nationals were out and we started making the plan to Maine. I was approached by Colleen Keough to help steward obedience at the nationals, I knew the only way I could do this is if the timing was right with Lil, we could change our route slightly and have a nice break at the nationals for a day, Marsha Moss Linehan whos husband Bob Linehan would be receiving an award for his cockers MHs one of them sired by my Cruiser, how nice would that be to be there to see, Marsha said if your going then we will go too. Huge congratulations to Bob Linehan for his awards on both Pumkin and Lambchop they hold the Pudggee Ann cockers name with pride Thank, thanks for all you do for our the field community. Colleen asked if we had a dog to add to there Rally Team, and Sharon Pearson agreed to enter Gg Iron waters Luke one of Six CD BN RA TDX JH CA. Now once all these plans were made we all kept our fingers crossed that Lil would wait until the 10th of July before coming in season, that would give us the time we needed to stop at the nationals and then get to Maine for the breeding, I did not want to disappoint anyone should she decide to come in early, but she is like clock work thank goodness. We made it in time for dinner Friday night with friends old and new you never get enough time to spend with them catching up. Saturday was fun stewarding with no stress of showing, Awesome to see some wonderful cockers in obedience and Rally. Obedience being my first love of dog sports it was a real pleasure to see obedience is strong in our breed, and give me motivation as well. Rally was so fun to watch and especially enjoyed the Rally Team so much fun and creativity. The dinner award ceremonies are always a pleasure especially when a dog from your breeding is being honored and you know how much has been put into each person work, heart and soul as each person receives there award always emotional for me as I wear my heart on my sleeve, I am proudest to be an ASC member at this time because there is nothing like being awarded for your efforts and I know each person stepping up to the plate and I know what a proud moment it for them. What I did not know is that I had been nominated by my peers for AKC Sportsmanship of the year, spear headed by Colleen Keough, Marsha Linehan, and Florence Goldsworthy, I was very emotional already, and well you can imagine my response. I am very honored to receive this award as I know it is not chosen lightly, I cannot thanks my peers enough for taking the time to do this for me. Anyone of them is eligible to earn, and I share this honor with the village of people who work and support me in all my ideas and ventures, as it takes a village to make things happen, and it takes your friends and peers to be your wings when yours dont work so well. Thank you for such an amazing honor to be awarded this years, Then we were on to Maine Sunday morning where we met up with Trish Jackson and Pat Wick, we had 2 successful breeding and we are keeping fingers crossed that our timing was perfect. I fell in love all over again with Maine what a beautiful place. I do hope I can take another trip to Maine as I have family there some I have never met. My maiden name is Spaulding and we need to have a family reunion. I will be posting some pictures to highlight our trip in the next few days as I have time, some wonderful memories :-)
