I made a pineapple upside down dump cake tonight - and it turned out great! (The only cake mix I had was a confetti mix which is why it has spots.) I used one boxed cake mix, one small can of crushed pineapple, one regular size can of sliced pineapple, 1 cup pineapple soda, and 1/2 cup of light brown sugar. Lay pineapple slices in bottom of glass pan - save the juice. Mix the can of crushed pineapple with the light brown sugar and pour over the sliced pineapple. Mix the boxed cake mix with the juice from the sliced pineapple and the pineapple soda then pour on pineapple mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 30 minutes - until middle is still a little under cooked. It will firm up some as it cools.
