I mean no disrespect to any Federation, Association, committee, National Sports Council, NOC or any such organized body charged with making sure sports and its derivative industry grow and flourish in Belize...but at this stage in the struggle i am obliged to say the following: Only a vibrant, functioning, legitimate CLUB STRUCTURE will produce the sports industry we all long for here in Belize...it has to start with CLUBS. I say this after spending hours at Archives going over the history of sports in Belize, and guess what, where there were CLUBS, that sport thrived...as the clubs fade so did the sport....if you don;t believe me go read some ole amandala, reporter, beacon, times and so fi yoself!.... fast forward to now....look at any of the 5 major sports here....the techno-bureaucrat run things....unless CLUBS are allowed to flourish, not much progress will be made.... history have shown where Federations/Associations/committees/councils have dominated sports at the detriment of CLUBS...for you see amateurism dictates that only one of the two can exist at any one time... here and now...history continues to repeat itself....take a good look my peeps... unless and until this nation allow the uninhibited proliferation of SPORTING CLUBS, then sports will remain in the gutter where pocket termites and croffie bad mind prevail.... at another time i will explain the what/why/when/where/how/who of this CLUB STRUCTURE thingy....
