I nearly got scam today and I am not the only one!!! A man approach me through an art-website by email saying he wants to buy a painting and pay via Paypal. So far so good! So I send him an invoice. He quickly replied that he had a problem with... screw that... Here is a copy-paste of his reply. ____________________________________________________________ Thank for getting back to me,Im having problem paying my shipping company they dont access payment via paypal i tried tell them my situation but they said their company dont accept any other method of payment but through wiring transfer (Western Union Money Transfer) and i cannot do that here as i am currently in camp as military seer instructor for new recruits as there is no Western Union office in here.so i wanted ask if it will be OK by you if i include the pick up agents fees together with your payments through PayPal,So you will help me wire the pick up fee to them via Western Union Money Transfer immediately i pay you.I never meant to bother you. Im sure you understand that Im presently on the camp and there is nothing i can do to that.The bottom line is after I have made the payments via PayPal,you will help me wire my pick up agent fee to them through Western Union Money Transfer i will also include the transfer charges too OK, I just wanted to seek your consent before going ahead with the payments,I will be very happy if my offer is given a favorable consideration,Response as soon as possible so that i can send out your Payment. Best Regards ____________________________________________________________ A few things raised my suspicion and I did some research... SCAM SCAM SCAM... No need to tell you that I was a bit disappointed and glad at the same time. So invoice cancelled. Not richer but certainly not poorer. If in doubt, check Paypal and Western Unions websites and foward any weird activity to spoof@paypal. Good luck and pass the words.
