I really like the expression fake it until you make it because its actually a very powerful method for changing any of our bad habits. If you interrupt a negative habit from happening enough times, it will slowly lose its power and fade away. What a lot of people dont realize is that our thinking patterns are also habits. Often times when we say we hate something, for example, its because we decided to think that at one time, then we repeated that thought over and over until it became our reality through habit. If you have negative thought patterns that are holding you back, you need to interrupt them as often as you can, and the best way to do that is to substitute positive thoughts in their place. In other words, you fake them for a while. So if you find yourself habitually thinking things like I hate working out, I cant resist chocolate, clean food is boring and so on, go out of your way to tell yourself the opposite. Say I love working out, Im not that big on chocolate, or clean food is so delicious. After a while of faking these positive, helpful thoughts, you will find that you actually make them real for you! This makes your mind adapt much faster than just doing healthy things and waiting until you get used to them! - Gloria.
