I somewhat agree with this. I agree that the great evils in this world are often coming from extremism. But I wonder if maybe the author is over-simplifying the sources of the problems. It could, as a side note, be understood to mean Its ok to have a religion; as long as you dont take it very seriously. And I can only most agree with that too. -except that I dont think its ok, even if its not a very serious matter for the member or believer. It would be like saying that a single flesh eating bacteria is ok, since that never hurt anyone, and then leaving that organism is an environment where it absolutely will grow and spread until someone gets hurt badly from it. Better just to eradicate it entirely. ------------- I also felt like the author was trying to personify (or anthropomorphize) these religions; as if they are people. I take objection to this as well.
