I try to write about how we are all one, all connected and that we create dis-ease when we see ourselves as separate from each other. We do though. We separate ourselves by race, class, religion etc and live in and among our own similar groups. We seldom get off the freeway at each others off ramps and dont co-mingle or cooperate. So when we are separate we see the other as other and not like us so we fear and distrust them. We can then hurt those who we fear and distrust more easily. It is the falseness of separation that makes us all ill. The falseness of separation from the food we eat and where it is grown, from the land we live on, from our neighbors and their voices, fears and hopes. We hide in anonymous avatar representations online arguing and sharing but not looking into each others eyes to see our mutual humanity which is instantly self evident when we do! Love is seeing that we are connected and one then having empathy and generosity for us all. I think it is anyway. I saw it in my grandparents and parents eyes and their self sacrifice on our behalf. I saw it when I got hurt and they yelled ouch and grimaced in instant pain too. It is our connection, our oneness.
