I want to thank everyone who wished me a happy birthday today! I started my day nice and early reporting to jury duty, yep on my birthday. Truthfully, it was a proud event for me being able to go and serve in my civic duties has a proud American. I strongly believe in our Bill of Rights and ready to participate as a member on a panel of jurors. Unfortunately each and every time I have been called to serve in that capacity I have always been quickly dismissed because of my former law enforcement experience. Its a shame that anyone who has any law-enforcement background is quickly dismissed as being biased and unable to be fair in our due process of law, even though it was over 30 years ago. I guess if I were a competent defense attorney and selecting members of potential juror candidates, I too would cross out the name of someone who went out every day to apprehend the bad guys. The little voice in my head says its time for me to scratch off serve as an impartial juror member off of my bucket list and get the hell over myself. Yep.....
