I was going through my gaming notes and found one where a great generation ship entered orbit and released its cargo in compartmentalized bundles...one of these bundles, in an isolated region, is where the game takes place. The bundle is a science wing of the testing, research, and development center...primary focus is maintaining stock for study; rats, mice, cats, dogs, rabbits, chickens, and pigs...as well as the food stocks for the same, a vast array of plants, bacteria vats, etc. Before the generation ship crashed, a series of events happened that produced waves of mutations...the AI, robots, and clone staff followed their orders and maintained the stock, even when the stock changed. A few years (137yrs) after the science wing bundle landed within the cold, bleak, rocky mountains there was a serious breach in the hull...resources spent dealing with this environmental incursion caused the AI to modify its routines and processes...allowing the stock to ebb and flow from the facility. This is where the players come in. Those with wanderlust, needing to step out and away from the security of Home. Players have the option of being a Clone (PSH) (Joe or Jane...though all the clones are without gender equipment, due corporate regulations against clones breeding outside the test tube), Robot (science service baseline model...though in retrospect after seeing Interstellar, I would offer that the new walker bots would be a great substitute), a mutant animal (of the types noted), or a mutant plant (common food support types...though I offered nice package deals for symbiotes and parasites...these work best with unaltered hosts, so clones or animals). This campaign was called Dog Pound. Basically those who stay near the facility pod are treated like pets and those just outside are treated like strays. Food, water, some care, etc. is provided for those who are not feral...feral are collected, subdued, fixed, and released...those ferals who continue to present issues are put down. Picture the facility pod, size of a standard Wal-Mart, being dropped in the deepest and rockiest region of Hoth. ***** I bring this one up for two reasons, one if it inspires a game or two then great and second a question... ...which of the character option types would you be mostly interested in?
