I was on the east side of town - what is now E. No Lights Blvd (3rd grader at Nunaka Valley). We had a few niknaks broken but not real damage. We lived in a trailer with a log leanto. No electricity but because we had propane, we had hot food and could boil water. We had a wood stove in the leanto so we had heat. We also had several relatives stay with us for several days. But eventually life started to get back to a new normal. So Pennys had a big sale of damaged goods. My mom bought this bookcase at the sale. It cost her $30. Its solid maple (she loved maple wood). When she passed away in 2009, it became mine, it reminds me of that day. On a side note, we had lived in Turnagain but had moved about 3 years before the quake. Some time after the quake my mom found a piece of our basement in what became Earthquake Park and hauled it home.
