I watched, Hear my Train a Comin on PBSs American Masters last night. It told the most accurate story of the life and career of one of the greatest musical minds of the 20th century Jimi Hendrix. Over the years there have been countless documentaries and sub standard record releases which threw together material that Jimi would have never released. It was so cool to see this comprehensive and honest film for a change. It showed how he put together his studio albums which showed the multi talented , multi faceted side of this maestro. Anybody can rehash their live performances ( and theirs some of that also ) but to show Jimis genius at work is something Ive never seen in my 45 years of devotion and admiration. If your one of the last few remaining true blue Hendrix fans dont miss it . If you watch to see Jimi play Purple Haze with his teeth then this probably isnt for you.
