I went over the border of Mexico near Yuma today. I thought it was interesting that I could just walk right across with no border patrol on the Mexican side. Or, it might be that way all the time but its been many many years since I walked across. At some level I felt welcomed i to Mexico, but felt like a stranger when I walked back and was asked all kinds of questions to get back into my own country. And yes, I have heard all the political arguments, and the good and bad and ugly rhetoric of protection, etc. And maybe theres nothing wrong, but something aint right.
