I went to visit my mom today at the residential care facility. The caregiver told me that she has been in bed since yesterday. They said that Tuesday night she was up all night talking so she slept all day Wednesday. Yesterday she ate in the morning, (whenever she cant or wont eat they give her her Ensure drink.) They say shes in bed due to a bedsore so shes on a special mattress that keeps the pressure off of it because its too uncomfortable sitting in her chair right now. Mom has only had ensure today and they have her on medication ~ she was alert, she has a big cough and breathing sounds rattling. I watched while she drank her lunch. I held her hand and told her I love her ~ ~ her voice was very quiet and kind of raspy but she said I love you~I love you too. She has a picture on her dresser of my dad and her when they were married. (Dad passed away 18 years ago) ~I brought it over to her and she said thats Ralph, thats Ralph and me ♡ I said yes thats my dad Ralph and you mom ♡♡♡ I would turn away and wipe my tears so she didnt see, I had this premonition that moms life is coming to an end soon. As I held her hand I told her Ralph (dad) has been waiting for her a long time in heaven. I told her I love her and thanked her for being such a good mom and teaching me so much. I told her its okay for her to go be with dad ~ Ive heard its good to tell them its okay.
