I wonder if we could make more sense out of Kierkegaards - TopicsExpress

I wonder if we could make more sense out of Kierkegaards teleological suspension of the ethical if we were to somehow combine it with some version of care ethics. Of course, Abraham suspending ethical principles to kill his son is monstrous. Thats probably why Kierkegaard chose such a provocative example. But would we react the same way if Abraham had violated some stand ethical rule on behalf of Isaac? Isnt it the case that when we have committed ourselves to a particular persons well-being, we are willing to violate rules that we would have taken as absolute ethical principles in all other cases? Im sure Kierkegaard takes this to be the case in our relationship with God, but what about with more terrestrial commitments, and beings with more earthly needs?
