ILLINOIS RESIDENTS! Please Help Companion Animals Seized in Cruelty Cases! SB 3050, sponsored by Senator Frerichs, allows temporary shelters for victims of cruelty. Please follow this link to ask your state senator to support this humane legislation! Large cruelty cases like fighting busts and companion animal hoarding cases can overwhelm local shelters and increase the euthanasia rate. Luckily in some states, national nonprofits are willing and able to establish temporary shelters and bring in caring volunteers to staff the shelters. SB 3805 would allow nonprofit organizations to establish temporary shelters to receive and care for animals seized in large-scale cruelty investigations if they were invited by the law enforcement authority with jurisdiction over the investigation or prosecution of the case. There are SO many of us out here ready & willing to volunteer to help ALL of these animals, if only the shelters can be given permission, space & time to save the lives they fight for every single day. It is inhumane & unnecessary to kill any adoptable animals due to situations created by humans & humans alone & due to bureaucratic red tape.
