IMO GOVERNORSHIP: A TRIUMPH OF GOOD IDEAS One of the determining factors for successful leadership is the freedom of ideas. Show me a leader who believes in new ideas and I can guarantee that you have found one of the most successful leaders any generation can think of. It is not to be over-emphasized that the bane of development, especially since 2011 is the stultification of ideas and the imprisonment of good ideas. The number one man, does not believe in ideas other than the impulsive ones that come to him. No wonder he confessed that his ideas make him crazy. Good ideas do not make anyone crazy, bad ideas do. Bad ideas are mostly hallucinations taken as ideas, and I need not remind you that hallucinations are the forte of the mad. As the 2015 elections draw very close, we must understand that it must be a battle of ideas and only the beautiful ideas will triumph at the end of the day. There cannot be beautiful ideas without a concatenation of ideas. A leader is said to be full of ideas when he or she allows many ideas to come in, then sink them into his ideas box, and sieve them for the best of them all. Very few leaders have the courage and tolerance to do this, and that is why there are very few of the many politicians who could be said to be good and model leaders. Some or majority of our politicians have boxed themselves into one cold room of obsolete ideas, and have failed to give any room for sharper ideas. This set of leaders have the flawed conviction that they know all and have therefore shut themselves out of more workable ideas. There are the others who may actually have the mind to listen to new ideas, but are denied such opportunity by the kind of aides they surround themselves with. These aides are mostly those who are not too sure of themselves, and are therefore careful not to allow new people in. This is an irresponsible fear, I must tell you. If you are wondering why Chief Ikedi Godson Ohakim is taking the campaign trail by storm, then you must cease wondering. Ikedi Ohakim listens to new ideas no matter where the ideas are coming from. He is also helped by the fact that one of his closest aides also believes in new ideas. He does not have the problem of inferiority complex that is an obstacle to some aides of other politicians. Dr. Kelechi Okpalake is open to new ideas and he is as open as he is to learning as he is free to teach. He believes in the sharing of ideas. This is the only reason, why an Ohakim whom I felt was an impossible market, is fast turning to about the most viable market. Another man who is as open to new ideas as the first person mentioned is Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, the deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and the most formidable governorship aspirant under the PDP platform. He listens to you, thinks about what you have said and takes his decisions. At the end, this whole noise and colours will be about the individual with the brightest of ideas. You will be deceiving yourself if you think or somehow believe that ousting Owelle Rochas Okorochafrom Douglas House will be a smooth affair. The only way Imo can be free from the deceits of Governor Okorocha is when the right ideas are gotten on how best to free Imo people from the many lies they have been fed with. It will eventually boil down to a battle of ideas and triumph of the best ideas. IMO GA ADI MMA OZO!
