IN LOKHANDWALA COMPLEX - 01/12/2013 ((SHORTFILM FESTIVALS )) T Manvani Anand speaking on the occasion Lokhandwala Complex in Mumbai is the epicenter of creativity, thousands of film producers, directors, actors and other people who matters in entertainment business, stay in this area. So motley crow of film enthusiasts in the area decided to organise a short film festival for Lokhandwala residents. So the result today was exactly the same as initially thought, jam packed Pushpanjali hall in Lokhandwala Garden No.2 and most of the thoughtfully crafted short films handpicked by the organisers. In all 18 films were shown, out of which some were shown for the first time exclusively in this festival, many have already earned accolodes in various film festivals. It was started by a short film Jan Gana Mana, This story is about Child Labors who work in Hotels, sell Toys, National Flags at Traffic signal. They dont know the value of the National Flag and national Anthem. One of them tries to sing National Anthem after peeping into the school on Independence Day, but he couldnt sing as he dont know the lyrics. This film depicts how they sing the National Anthem and honor the National Flag and the National Values.Directed by Vijay Kumar Das, he film has won so many accolades and awards. Still from Jana Gana Mana Next short film was Salt and Pepper. This is a very relevant satire on the government policy of allowing imports of food produce of traditional items like pepper, with the result our own farmers or manufacturers are out of competition. Directed by haendra Pratap Singh, the story leaves more thoughts to ponder. Salt and Pepper Love language is by Asad Abbas, a very touchy film, which is a remake of the original written by Joen .Y. Lee Says Asad Abbas that this was his student Film during his filmmaking course... All the credit goes to The Jubilee Project ... I just Loved the Original Love language and always wanted to remake that , I know there are many versions and remake of it already on the net .... It was great fun making this video and a very very good learning experience for me as a Director .... Another noteworthy film shown in the festival was I can live without you produced by Manohar Thakur and directed by Tariq Bhatt. Based on recent suicide instances, the director tried to convey that merely failed in love, there is no need to commit suicide. Still from I can live without you Socho was movie done by very talented music director Ishwar Kumar, which talks about danger of playing with environment. Still from Socho The festival was organised by Lokhandwala Residents Association with the help of T Manvani Anands Anand Creations, the venture was assisted by Ms Hira Mehta, Nikhil Kulkarni, Bihari Sherry, Ajay Gupta. The organisers honoured Shri Ishwar Kumar, Manohar Thakur producers present at the show. While there is no dearth of such festivals in the city, MAMI as well as so many other festivals draw lot of film lovers.
