ITS TIME TO SHARPEN YOUR PENCILS DO AN OPTIONS ANALYSIS: As the political alliances are shaping up for the 2016 Philippine presidential elections, it may be wise to put together a check list and perform an options analysis as to who can best serve our homeland and its people. Since our country has been starved of the much needed progress due to nobodys fault but our own, we need to rethink our past voting strategies and change our voting habits. But why? * Because life is hard in the Philippines and every peso is valuable in a country where minimum wage is barely enough to cover the costs of living. The costs of dying is even more prohibitive. * Because when one goes to a public hospital, there is no proof of more funds being invested to create a world-class health care facilities with state-of-art equipment. Instead, you will find that the rooms are cramped, the equipment are old and rusty, the doctors are few and the medicines are to be paid out of your pocket. * Because public schools are in bad condition, with 50, and sometimes as much as 80 kids sharing one badly constructed and ill-equipped room. * Because of lack of an effective public mass transportation which evidently becomes a nagging and big burden to many. * Because many of the roads are bad, poorly lighted, poorly marked and poorly maintained. * Because we constantly and repeatedly hear of greedy and corrupt government officials squandering the peoples money. * Because government officials go unpunished for conniving with those who deprived the Filipino people billions of pesos that would otherwise been spent to build fully-equipped modern classrooms, world-class health care facilities, fully-paved farm-to-market roads, countrywide emergency response systems, storm drains and other much needed infrastructure improvements. * Because of political maneuvering, lack of strong leadership, clearer vision and business acumen, our leaders miserably failed to develop the local economy to create jobs to allow Filipinos to thrive in their own homeland. This catastrophic failure is evidenced by almost 5,000 Filipino migrant workers who leave their families and our homeland every day to find work elsewhere. * Because our leaders lack the forward-thinking visions, dont have the proper training and experience to see the big picture, they failed to anticipate and properly protect its citizens from costly and deadly natural disasters. Finger pointing was not in short supply after Yolanda. Photo opportunity was even rampant and exploitive. * And the list goes on. Your options analysis must contain the names and qualifications of each candidate, what they stood for, and what changes they are going to make to repair our neglected homeland. But making a choice between two or three incompetent candidates or between the worse of the evil-doers are hardly a choice at all. But the choice is still yours to make come 2016. Meanwhile, start sharpening your pencils and consciously and wisely make the comparison. All I can say is this, MY FELLOW FILIPINOS, YOU DESERVE A BETTER TREATMENT AND RESPECTABLE SERVICE FROM YOUR LEADERS OR PUBLIC SERVANTS. REMEMBER, YOU VOTE THEM IN OFFICE TO SERVE YOU, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. IN OTHER WORDS, THEY WORK FOR YOU. Remember also the saying, Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. DONT GET FOOLED!!
